New Pictures from the cabin

Ok we just got back from the cabin and Dave you will be thrilled to see the pictures we have posted. I will also post some the other pictures that are not here on the blog yet as they will probably look a little better than when they were sent as attachments. So drool over these pictures and remember to work hard to the end.

I was going to stand next to that slab of snow that had slid off the roof until Lorie said to move around in front of it. Well the slab of ice in front of it was covered with a small skiff of snow and when I stepped on the slab it was all down hill from there. How good is your homeowners? No I am fine and we both got a good laugh out of it.

This is the under cabinet lights in the kitchen. I really like them.

Hope you enjoy the pictures of the fireplaces. They sure look nice.

First day on the road to Utah

OH BOY!! What a day! We left at about 8:30 this morning. Drove by the elk ranch near Marceline and Chad we saw no elk, what up? The truck had a warning light on at Mound City. After a call to the Penske service number we were back up and going. Oh we did have lunch at the Mac Shack (McDonalds). I had a healthy lunch and then in Ben's words voided it all in the truck when I snacked on a Nature Valley Granola bar Sweet and Salty. No fun at all. Mikaela and Makenna took turns riding with us and they were a blast. Kept us awake and laughing. Well now we sit in the motel room at Days Inn in Paxton (where in hades is Paxton) with no cable and 1 snowy tv station with ballroom competion. Air conditioner is slow to cool, beds are very soft, in-room frig does not work properly, and light bulb in the lamp is burned out. We are waiting for the call that the continental breakfast has been cancelled. Oh there is no breakfast. I just heard a yelp from Ben as he stepped on tacks from the carpet tack strip at the entrance to the bathroom. Ben just turned on the bathroom fan and it sounded like he was directing traffic at the terminal at Salt Lake International airport. Can't wait to settle down for a peaceful nights rest.

The Nauvoo Pageant

The picture to the left of Melba, Mike, and myself at their station before the pageant begins. What we would commonly call the pre show. The next picture is of the entrance to the pageant. As you can see there is a lot of activity going on and lots of things to do.

The picture below the Caldwells is from the flats west of the temple and it is a very beautiful view. The Nauvoo temple is always so beautiful and awe inspiring.

This is a picture of the entrance to the pageant where there is a lot going on.

Cabin Tour part three

We are now looking from the new great room through the doorway to the "old" kitchen.

Now we have stepped inside the "old" kitchen into the new addition.

Looking again from the Kitchen into the new addition.

The new railing in the original part of the cabin.

Proceeding up the stairs to the loft area.

Looking down toward the original front door.

Looking east out the new larger dormer windows. A lot of light floods the cabin in the early morning. It is strikingly beautiful.

This picture gives you another look at the railing and the amount of light the windows let in.

This is the largest bedroom in the old part of the cabin .

This is the bathroom with the new tile. Yes there will be a door on the bathroom when it is done.

This is the smaller bedroom in the old part of the cabin.

This is the new basement bedroom with the wood stove. At least it was new to us.

Another view of the bedroom downstairs.

Looking from the bedroom to the bathroom downstairs.

The bathroom downstairs .

Another view of the bedroom downstairs.

The view out the west of the cabin. Oh the beautiful mountains.

A friendly wave from Morris and Christy as they prepare to break ground for the garage.

Morris getting ready for the first scoop of dirt on the garage.

There it is, the first scoop of dirt on the new detached garage. We are on our way.
